{"id":5957,"date":"2025-02-06T21:17:11","date_gmt":"2025-02-06T21:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pornuestrolaredo.com\/?p=5957"},"modified":"2025-02-06T21:17:11","modified_gmt":"2025-02-06T21:17:11","slug":"creo-asteroide-dos-grandes-canones-en-la-luna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pornuestrolaredo.com\/?p=5957","title":{"rendered":"Cre\u00f3 asteroide dos grandes ca\u00f1ones en la Luna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PAR\u00cdS.-<\/strong> El roce de un cometa o un gran asteroide en el polo sur lunar provoc\u00f3 dos enormes y profundos ca\u00f1ones que surgieron en apenas 10 minutos, de acuerdo con una investigaci\u00f3n publicada en Nature Communications.<\/p>\n<p>Las gigantescas grietas, con profundidad y ancho similares al Gran Ca\u00f1\u00f3n de Colorado se produjeron durante un per\u00edodo de agitaci\u00f3n planetaria cuando la Tierra y la Luna estaban siendo reconstruidas por el impacto de asteroides y cometas, seg\u00fan la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hace casi cuatro mil millones de a\u00f1os&#8221;, explica en un comunicado el autor principal David Kring, del Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI), &#8220;un asteroide o cometa vol\u00f3 sobre el polo sur lunar, roz\u00f3 las cumbres monta\u00f1osas de Malapert y Mouton y golpe\u00f3 la supercie lunar. El impacto expuls\u00f3 corrientes de roca de alta energ\u00eda que tallaron dos ca\u00f1ones del tama\u00f1o del Gran Ca\u00f1\u00f3n de la Tierra. Mientras que el Gran Ca\u00f1\u00f3n tard\u00f3<br \/>\nmillones de a\u00f1os en formarse, los dos grandes ca\u00f1ones de la Luna se tallaron en menos de 10 minutos&#8221;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>El asteroide o cometa que impact\u00f3 probablemente golpe\u00f3 la superficie lunar a una velocidad de casi 55 mil kil\u00f3metros por hora (35 mil millas por hora). El impacto produjo la enorme cuenca de impacto de Schr\u00f6dinger de 320 kil\u00f3metros de di\u00e1metro y propuls\u00f3 los escombros rocosos que excavaron los surcos profundos en la supercie lunar.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores analizaron los ca\u00f1ones utilizando im\u00e1genes y datos de elevaci\u00f3n de la nave espacial Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter de la NASA.<\/p>\n<p>Esas mediciones indican que los ca\u00f1ones tienen entre 20 y 27 kil\u00f3metros de ancho, entre 2.7 y 3.5 kil\u00f3metros de profundidad y entre 270 y 860 kil\u00f3metros de largo. Las caracter\u00edsticas se denominan Vallis Schr\u00f6dinger y Vallis Planck.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores calcularon el vuelo bal\u00edstico de los escombros expulsados que crearon los ca\u00f1ones. Despu\u00e9s de volar sobre la supercie lunar, los escombros golpearon la supercie lunar a velocidades de aproximadamente un kil\u00f3metro por segundo (3 mil 600 kil\u00f3metros por hora). Los escombros produjeron rayos de cr\u00e1teres de impacto secundario que forman los ca\u00f1ones.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>El cr\u00e1ter Schr\u00f6dinger es similar en muchos aspectos al cr\u00e1ter Chicxulub que mat\u00f3 a los dinosaurios en la Tierra. Al mostrar c\u00f3mo se formaron los ca\u00f1ones de kil\u00f3metros de profundidad de Schr\u00f6dinger, este trabajo ha ayudado a iluminar lo energ\u00e9tica que puede ser la eyecci\u00f3n de estos impactos&#8221;, dijo el coautor Gareth Collins.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>La energ\u00eda para producir los grandes ca\u00f1ones en la Luna es aproximadamente 130 veces mayor que la energ\u00eda en el inventario global de armas nucleares.<\/p>\n<p>La mayor parte de la roca excavada fue expulsada de la regi\u00f3n polar sur lunar.
